Welcome to the Argyll Repeater
Group.
We are parented by:
Purpose
The
purpose for the formation of the group on 25th October
1998 was to encourage local Amateur Radio activity by
maintaining the existing GB3LG VHF Repeater, to
perhaps develop the idea of a UHF (70cm) voice repeater
in the Mid Argyll area and to fill the large void that
currently exists in the Amateur Data Network running up
the West Coast of Scotland by commissioning some sort of
Data Node.
Committee
At
the AGM held on 28 August 2003 in The Auchendarroch
Hotel, Ardrishaig, the following members were elected as
this year's office bearers:
Secretary & Repeater Keeper -
Peter Gaskin, MM1FE0
Treasurer & Data Nodes Manager
-
Liam Harvey, GM4VYQ
Voice Repeaters
At
present, there is only one VHF voice repeater in the
immediate area, namely GB3LG which has been
off the air for some considerable time. It is hoped
to resite LG and get it back on the air as soon as
possible.
Nodes
Our
current proposal is for an APRS Data Node which will be co-sited
with GB3LG. It is also
hoped that we will install a remote monitoring weather
station which will feed real-time weather data back into
the APRS network.
