Introduction
We are a group of Amateur Radio enthusiasts who are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond and assist "User Services", "Utilities" and other organisations with their communication requirements as necessary.

We are one of six groups comprising "West of Scotland RAYNET".  The other groups are the North Argyll group, the Cowal group, the Ayrshire group the Greater Glasgow group and the Clyde Coast group.

The West of Scotland RAYNET area controller is Derek MacCallum, GM4LCZ.

In the past, RAYNET groups throughout the country have assisted in real time emergencies including:

Argyll (South) RAYNET Group although now the smallest group in the West of Scotland Area, still commands a fair measure of respect from RAYNET nationally. This is mainly due to the skills we have developed providing "Talkthrough" facilities over extremely difficult terrain and participating in high profile disaster exercises such as "Beaufort Dyke" in 1997

During the rest of the year we participate in numerous events and exercises to hone our technical & communications skills.

Exercises
During 2004, we expect to be participating in the following events:

One of our favourite past exercises is The Islands Peaks Race which we have covered for many years. Learn more of our exploits here.
